People and The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is one of the most popular TV shows on cable television networks today. This show takes the viewer through the life of regular everyday people who have been suddenly thrown into the zombie apocalypse. With this new world being forced upon these human being, they must adapt at a rate that the average human being can sustain survival. As the show continues further into the timeline, many people die and become zombies of course, but one thing that was interesting was the internal problems with themselves that the characters faced as they continued their journey in this new cruel world. Main Characters such as Rick, Herschel, and Carl all had different problems in the show that they had to overcome just to survive. Rick who was a police officer had to learn how to balance between democracy and dictatorship when leading the group because he has to make decisions for the group if they agree or disagree. For Carl Rick’s son, he is forced to grow up quicker than a regular kid must, and he begins to gain a cold heartedness with the constant killing environment. Herschel was the moral compass of the show; as a much older man he could not the cruel world where people take advantage of the kind-hearted people Herschel which led to his murder by the antagonists the Governor. There is connection between the age of the characters and their age. The younger character must learn how to have compassion for others, the middle-aged character must learn to stay balanced when making decisions for others, and the older characters must learn to learn that world that they once lived in no longer exists. The difference in generations causes a new set of problems outside of the survival of the zombie apocalypse.
